COMEDIAN DAVID ANGELO CHALLENGES THE PUBLIC TO "TAKE HIS JOKES.....PLEASE!"

NEW YORK, NY., March 15 2010 -- Comedian David Angelo couldn't get these jokes to work, but he's hoping you can.  Angelo is sponsoring the "1st Annual CodeName: Joke" comedy competition, challenging people from all over the country to "make hilarious" some of his less-successful jokes.  The contest is currently accepting video submissions through May 31st.  Finalists will have their videos displayed on the CodeName: Joke website, where the general public will vote for one (1) Grand Prize Winner who will receive FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS in cash.

The ten (10) finalists will be selected in June by a panel of industry insiders.  Finalists who do not win the grand prize will be mailed signed headshots of David Angelo.

"The appeal, for me, is that these people can fully commit to a sub-par joke because they aren't self-conscious about having written it," says creator David Angelo. "The worst they can do is harm MY reputation - which is already beneath contempt.  So it's win-win!"

Angelo, who has an extensive web presence and was the 2009 recipient of Time Out New York's Joke of the Year award, has listed many of his cast-aside jokes on the contest site, www.CodeNameJoke.com.  Entrants, however, can use ANY joke of his they can find and are not limited to those listed.

THAILAND!  Guys, I wish I could upload all the little videos I'm making for you, but a combination of terrible cameras and thailand's inability to be good at technology are making it difficult.  I've had some good times, been really sick, rented a motorcycle, saw some monkeys, crossed into Laos, and spent time with a tribal village.  I'm SOOOO cultured now.  I have such a respect for these people....an admiration for how they can tolerate everyone being inept, lazy, and filthy. 

And this is just week one!

I hope you guys are enjoying all the reruns I'm playing until Dec, catching up on some old favorites, revisiting the classics.  My intention was to provide content from here, but you'll have to understand that its just not possible.  There are lizards in the computer room.

I'll see everyone soon!  I'll try to do a webcast if I can from Bangkok before I leave - assuming the internet and power can be on at the same time.
